One account, two modes, and the same switch lives inside the app. The mode is always named in words and not only coloured, because roughly one man in twelve cannot separate clay from teal.

When you cannot be there, send someone you trust.

There is no category list, because the things that matter are not categories. Write what you need in one sentence, the way you would say it out loud, and name what it is worth to you. Someone claims it at your price, or nobody does.

Three situations this was built for

Not a market study. These are the founder's own, and they are the reason any of this exists.

Someone needs to be with my father today.

Not nursing. Company, and a person who would notice if something were wrong.

My parents have an appointment and should not go alone.

Someone to remember what the doctor said, ask the second question, and get them home.

I am sick in bed and the agreement still has to be signed.

Printed, carried to the tenant, signed, brought back. Today, not next week.

None of these is a skill you can shop for. What you need is a person you can trust, and that has never fitted inside a grid of categories.

How a job runs

Seven steps, one chat thread, no phone calls to a support line.

  1. Say it in a sentence

The front door is a text box. No categories, no form with twenty fields.

  2. Name your price

You decide what the job is worth, for the job start to finish, not per hour.

  3. Someone claims it

HUFA puts it in front of helpers nearby. One accepts at your price, or it stays open.

  4. Everything runs in one thread

Live chat from the moment it is claimed, so you always know where things stand.

  5. Read out the PIN

Four digits, yours. The helper cannot start the job without hearing them from you.

  6. Pay when it is done

Cash on completion today. Online payment is being wired in.

  7. Rate each other

Both directions, every job. Trust that runs one way is not trust.

What actually works today

HUFA is in early access, so here is the honest state of it rather than a feature grid.

Working now

  • Sign in with a code sent to your email
  • Describe a job in your own words
  • Automatic matching to a nearby helper
  • Live chat, both sides, in one thread
  • Four digit arrival PIN
  • Completion and cash payment
  • Ratings in both directions
  • One account, requester and helper modes

Being built

  • Booking a specific day and time
  • Paying online instead of cash
  • Push notifications on your phone
  • The iPhone app, in Apple review

What we are doing about trust

Said plainly, including the parts that are not finished.

Right now there is one helper, and it is the founder.
HUFA opens small on purpose. The first jobs are done by the person who built it, so the standard is set by someone who cannot hide behind a platform.
The PIN is the door.
Nobody stands at your parents' door claiming to be from HUFA and gets started without four digits that only you have.
Police verification comes before helpers do.
Verification through Seva Sindhu happens before HUFA takes on anyone beyond the founder. Gated communities are starting to ask for it just to let a person in.
Money moves last.
Nothing is charged when a job is promised. It is paid when the work is done.

Join the early access list

HUFA is not taking jobs yet. Joining puts you first in line when it opens in your part of the city.

Tell us what you need

One real situation tells us more than a hundred names on a list.

So a person can call you, not a bot.

Tells us which part of Bangalore to open first.

What is this worth to you?

For the job start to finish, not per hour. An honest number helps more than a generous one.

Only used when we call you.

We call you when HUFA opens in your pincode. Your number is not sold or shared.

You are on the list.

A real person reads every one of these, and right now that person is the founder. We will call you when HUFA opens in your part of Bangalore.

Why we ask for a phone number

Because the first conversation is a phone call from a person, not an automated email.

Why we ask for a pincode

HUFA opens one area at a time. Your pincode is a vote for where it opens next.

Why we ask about money

So helpers know whether the work is worth their afternoon before anyone is disappointed.

You could be on the other side of this. Helpers set their own hours and see the price before they accept anything.

Get paid to be the person who shows up.

Jobs arrive as sentences, not tickets. You see the price before you accept anything, and you decide whether it is worth your afternoon. No bidding, no undercutting, no shift you are locked into.

An example of what a job looks like from your side. The price is already set, so there is nothing to negotiate.

You choose every jobNothing is assigned. No acceptance rate to protect.
Price before you acceptSet by the requester. No bidding, no undercutting.
Paid the day you workCash in hand on completion, at the door.

Why this is worth your time

The three things people ask before they sign up for anything like this.

Nobody assigns you anything.

Jobs sit there until someone claims them. Ignore ten, take the eleventh. There is no acceptance rate to protect and no penalty for saying no.

The price is on the job before you touch it.

The requester names it, for the job start to finish. You either think it is fair or you leave it for someone who does.

You get paid the day you work.

Cash on completion, in hand, at the door. Online payment is being wired in for people who would rather not carry it.

Most of this work is not a skill. It is being someone a stranger can trust with their parents, and that is worth paying for.

How a job runs from your side

Claim to paid, in six steps.

  1. Read what they actually need

In their own words, not squashed into a category. You know what you are walking into before you claim it.

  2. Claim it at their price

One tap. The job is yours and it disappears for everyone else.

  3. Sort out the details in chat

Same thread, live, from the moment you claim to the moment you are paid.

  4. Take the PIN at the door

They read four digits to you. That starts the job, and it proves you are the person they were expecting.

  5. Mark it done

When the work is finished, you close it from your side.

  6. Get paid, and rate them

Cash in hand on completion. You rate the requester the same way they rate you.

What HUFA asks of you

Four things, and none of them are negotiable.

Police verification through Seva Sindhu.
Before you take a job for anyone but yourself. It costs about ₹375 and takes roughly three weeks, and gated communities increasingly want it before they let anyone in at all.
Turn up when you said you would.
Somebody's father is sitting alone waiting. This is the whole product. There is no way to be casual about it.
Never start without the PIN.
It protects you as much as them. It is the proof you were expected and the proof of when the job began.
Accept being rated, every single job.
You rate them too. Ratings are how a stranger decides to let you into their house.

Put your name down as a helper

HUFA is not taking jobs yet. The founder is the only helper today, and this is the list of who joins next.

Tell us what you can do

The founder calls every helper personally before anything is agreed.

The founder calls every helper before anything else happens.

Jobs come to you by how close you are.

What is the least you would take for a job of two or three hours?

Be honest rather than cheap. This tells us whether the prices people are naming are worth anyone's time.

Only used when we call you.

Verification comes after that first conversation, not before it.

You are on the list.

The founder calls every helper personally before anything is agreed. Expect a call, not an automated email.

What this is not

Not a full time job, not a shift roster, and not something that penalises you for saying no.

What it could be

A few afternoons a week, at prices you agreed to before you left the house.

What happens after you sign up

A phone call. Then verification. Then your first job, which the founder will walk you through.

You can be on both sides. One account holds both modes, and the switch is two taps away inside the app.
